With Spring Break just around the corner, here are some great activities that you and your family can enjoy.

Activities Throughout the Week

Extended Hours at Zoo Boise

Zoo Boise will be offering extended hours so you and your family can enjoy more Zoo fun. Hours from Monday, March 26 - Friday, March 30 will be 10:00am - 7:00pm. Learn more at zooboise.org.

Public Skate at Idaho IceWorld

Meet up with friends, bring your family and enjoy some time on the ice.

STREAM at the WaterShed

Explore a stream table and build block towers at BLOCK Fest® stations in our exhibit hall. Explore the River Campus and nature play stations outdoors. At 10:30 each day, meet Raptor Ambassadors from the Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area. At 11:00, take a tour of the water renewal facility. Closed-toe shoes required for tour; no children under 4 on tour. Free admission. Registration not required for groups less than ten people.

Bird Takeover at the Library! at Cole and Ustick

The Library! at Cole & Ustick is teaming up with Golden Eagle Audubon to celebrate the Year of the Bird. The Library will display a traveling photo exhibit from the 2018 National Audubon Society and offer a scavenger hunt and bird-themed programs including:

Intro to Birds of Boise: Sunday, March 25th, from 2:00 - 3:00pm | An introduction to common local birds with some tips on identification. All ages welcome.

Intro to Ebird: Tuesday, March 27th, 7:00pm - 9:00pm | Learn how to use this handy online tool, and turn your bird sightings into scientific data. All ages welcome.

Spring Break Camps for School-Aged Children

Wild by Design (grades 2-6)

Zoo Boise is growing, and the new exhibit designs are WILD! Spend the week learning how to translate what happens in nature into what we call behavior based husbandry and designed spaces that benefit the animals, their keepers, curious visitors, and give back to nature! This week includes a look at the current exhibit design, a chance to try your hand at planning a zoo, and a closer look at the animals found here through behind the scenes tours, enrichment building, games, crafts, and experiment exploration.

Zoo Careers (grades 7-10)

Interested in working at a zoo or another career with animal wildlife? Depending on the career, you may need skills that include fundraising, art or graphic design, marketing & communications, architecture and construction, animal collection management, education, and wildlife conservation as well as animal care.  Join us to explore the many careers available at zoos and other animal-focused organizations.  Meet the people responsible for running the zoo, including members of the animal care team, and perform some of their daily responsibilities and chores.  We will meet the veterinarian staff & zookeepers, clean an exhibit, create animal diets, conduct DNA extraction, learn how genetics plays a role captive breeding, and explore wildlife conservation projects funded by the Zoo Boise community.  To assist your career planning, salaries, required education and experience, and résumé building will be explored.

Art Camp (ages 6-8 years and 9-12 years)

Let your child explore his or her creativity in these three-hour classes offered during Spring Break. Activities will include clay, watercolor, drawing, designing, sculpting and much more! Students can choose from sessions offered in the morning or in the afternoon. All materials provided.

Warm Spring Golf Camp (ages 7-15 years)

Golf camp is open to junior golfers of all skill levels.  Lunch is NOT included in the cost, participants should bring lunch with them each day.
