Summertime Events for Lifelong Learners
The Boise WaterShed is presenting two upcoming events for adult learning - a perfect opportunity to get out of the house during those dog days of summer!
Friday Night Adult eARThworks at the Boise WaterShed
Join us on Friday, August 17 from 6 - 9 p.m. for our last class in our summer series of eARThworks. Our focus will be The Art of the Circle Field. Remember your nursery books about farms? Tidy rows of crops and white picket fences? A sweet memory, but crops are not often grown that way anymore. With our population increasing, there are a lot of people to feed. Join us to learn how our farmers are developing new methods of agriculture that are sustainable.
Your art project will involve combining a series of ideas and images: crop circles, Peruvian Nasca lines, and the expressive art of Paul Klee. From these, we’ll make our own personal patterns relating to water.
Watershed Exploration Series at the Boise WaterShed
Would you like to learn more about what lies beneath the surface of the Boise River? Join us August 18 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. for a short hike to the Boise River where we will look at the macroinvertebrates we find and what they mean about the health of the river. You then have the opportunity to work with a local expert on tying flies that mimic the macroinvertebrates you discovered!
Pre-registration is required on week prior to the program. $10 per person.
